SCP Launched at Luzira Magistrates Court

LUZIRA: Small Claims Procedure (SCP) was launched at Luzira Magistrate's Court on September 31, 2018.
Court of Appeal Justice and Chairperson of the Small Claims Procedure Implementation Committee, Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, urged the people of Luzira to embrace SCP, saying the Procedure is fastest way to recover money.
"Small Claims Procedure is a solution to help you get your money quickly. We want you to use it to solve your issues and we have brought you the right people to help you."
He commended Mr Ronald Bamwezo, the Nakawa Mayor for being a good ambassador ofSCP.
He said the fast access to justice initiative demystifies court processes. "Court has come to the people because we want it to serve the people."
Hon. Justice Kiryabwire cautioned the court users who turned up for the launch of SCP to desist from any form of corruption but rather support Judicial Officers to ensure efficiency.
The Ag. Assistant Registrar in charge of SCP, HW Lillian Bucyana, thanked the people of Luzira for turning up in big numbers and encouraged them to embrace the procedure.
Also present at the launch was Nakawa Chief Magistrate, HW Agnes Alum.
During the plenary, the court users commended the Luzira Magistrate, HW Carol Kabugho,for her service to the community.
The Court users decried the dilapidated structure that houses the court.
